New online marketplace: Webstore.com! #freeonlinewebstore
I wanted to share this, because I know that there are many who sell online and basically all of us have an online shopping habit at one time or another. If you’re anything like me, you used to be an E-bay addict, until all the hidden fees and price boosts due to extra seller fees occurred. Then it kind of turned- ‘meh’. So now I search for better e-commerce platforms.
I had never heard of this site until I was on the hunt for reception decor ideas. There are LOTS of wedding, party decor and necessities listed here! Then I checked it out. (Thoroughly, as I never blog about anything until I check it out and ask questions.)
There are NO fees. Seriously, I even contacted the company to ask about it. No hidden fees, no listing fees, no sale based commissions. The only thing I could find that costs anything, is actually optional. That is the $10 fee for the verification process. You do not have to be verified, but if you wish to be verified, that is the cost. The reason this costs exists is to cover the expenses of the company in order to verify you. For the most part, I was told that some sellers choose to be verified as it contributes to legitimacy of the sellers business. Webstore.com is completely upfront about how they make their money via on-site marketing so that they can cover their expenses without charging the people who make their site highly functioning: The buyers and sellers. I don’t know about you, but I very much respect a business that is forthcoming about their strategy.
Webstore.com is really easy to navigate, and the bidding process -as far as I can tell -works in a similar fashion to e-bay. Paypal is accepted. International buyers and sellers are welcome! (A huge plus in my book, as I hate it when I’m checking out and then I’m told that such and such store does not ship to my country.) The verification process seems quite diligent, so if you find the perfect item from a verified seller you can trust that it’s coming from a solid source.
I hope you check it out, and if you decide to use http://www.webstore.com as your new selling platform (Hello all you Etsy sellers out there!) drop us a line with the link to your new e-store!
