Preserving Cilantro & Basil In The Freezer
I really wanted to share this great diy technique for preserving herbs from: http://www.pleasantpeasantcuisine.wordpress.com I know I’ll be using this great kitchen idea! Thanks π
Today was leftovers day so no new dishes to report. I did however preserve some fresh herbs in the freezer. First I blended cilantro with olive oil, a little kosher salt and a pinch of citric acid.
I froze the blended cilantro in small portions in a mini ice cube tray.
After making basil salt the other day there isnβt much basil left outside. I picked what healthy leaves were left and blended them like I did with the cilantro β with olive oil, salt and a pinch of citric acid. I know these frozen herbs wonβt taste exactly like fresh but they will be a lot closer than using the dried herb.
Wow!
