I had to share this with you ๐ I purchased this hand-woven rug during a trip to Morocco. It isn’t huge, because they were so expensive…more than I had on me, for sure! But the handicraft is beautiful, and since I limit myself to ONEย purchase in each country, per trip (I’m not a souvenir ladened suitcase traveler…much to my friends dismay.) I was able to justify this little luxury to myself without too ย much work.
It took a while to get everything in order and to have it shipped. Then have it shipped again. But now, it’s home! I hope you like it too…the photo colored a bit weird, but rest assured, its gold and blue tones are just beautiful ๐
What about you? What are some of your favourite travel souvenirs?

I suspect the photo doesn’t do it justice. ๐

Looks beautiful! Did you have to pay much? I am a little strange but I often buy books from or about the place I go to

Thanks! I had to pay more than I wanted to, that’s for sure. But I wanted the ‘real’ one, not a knock-off sold by street vendors. So it was worth it ๐
You aren’t strange at all! Travel books as souvenirs are awesome!

I love Morocco too. I came back with shoes, paschminas, wood carvings…

That is the type of purchase I would make. I almost bought one in Istanbul this summer. Iโm not someone who buys souvenirs, either, but something for the house, clothing or food items are great to enjoy the entire year.

Exactly! What did you wind up getting?

I bought spices, teas and oils, shoes and clothing. Nothing for our home because weโre going to make a big move soon and weโre trying to have fewer things at the moment

Sounds like a good plan. Spices teas and oils can’t be beat sometimes. I still have some of the spices I purchased on trips and I dread the day they run out.
