Wooohooo! I found it! I found it!!! You are now looking at the proud owner of a beautiful wedding dress…and just in time, too!

For those of you reading who haven’t been following the wedding saga, I realized last week that ‘OMG! If I don’t pick a dress soon, I’m not going to have one AT ALL!’. My panic was well expressed in this post. I seriously thought that I could have my dress in-hand in 3 months time. My, my…how wrong I was. Apparently, the time frame is 6 months! Hurry! Hurry!

So this is what I did: I went back to the original boutique. All the others I visited were a bit ‘Meh’ for me. High prices for inferior fabrics, or waaayyyy too focused on the princess story. Being in my late 30’s, I really have no need to re-inact a disney movie and look quite preposterous in some of the ballgowns. Bigger is not always better. Not for me anyway.

At this boutique, I had fallen in love with a few gowns and had to leave without trying some of them on due to time constraints. So I went back, and I picked my dress loves and we all went into the fitting room together. There is truly nothing quite like having a wall of  wedding dresses waiting for your opinion. I love it. Champagne helps.

Here are some that I absolutely adore (I wasn’t able to include all of them, as some look like a solid wall of veil – which I’m guessing nobody wants to see).

I was swooning for this gown. We did have a battle over undergarments. I’m sorry, but I will NOT be wearing a hoop! Let it hang… 🙂

Feeling a bit ‘Peggy Sue Got Married’ but it is age-appropriate.

Flow-y makes my heart sing 🙂 Don’t mind the mess in the back, that was for sizing purposes.

Oh…Glamour, detail and gold…how I love thee! A bit cozy around the hips, but just look at it!

Ah…the romance of lace! I love it, like really love it. But I fear my fiancé will tell me I look like a table cloth. And then I will have to use it against him for the rest of his life.

Aaaand throw in a bit of Old Hollywood in the mix for good measure 😉

A few things. I know I said I didn’t want strapless. And I tried, I really did! These 2 strapless dresses are the only strapless ones I tried. And the reason being? The bodice is so tight, it’s not going A-N-Y-W-H-E-R-E, possibly not even a comfortable sitting position if I don’t do a emergency slim down of 1-2 cm’s.

I did, in fact, have The Moment! I cried. Not crocodile tears, but enough to know that ‘this is my dress’! It’s so hard to explain. I tried on a coordinating veil with each dress I loved. But when I looked in the mirror and saw myself in The Dress with the veil, it was like I knew that this dress would be carrying me down the aisle. I was so lucky to have my mother with me who was helping me by taking photos and I heard, can’t you smile? Why can’t you smile? And I just couldn’t say anything. My eyes welled up with tears while I stared at myself in the mirror and thought about walking down the aisle to the man I love. It was…surreal.

Ironically, the dress I chose (or that chose me) is not something I would normally go for. So I’m really glad I went in with an open mind and looked for dresses outside of my comfort zone. Otherwise, I never would have found this beauty. And I did not want to take the dress off. When the associate asked me if this was the dress I wanted, I said that the tears spoke for themselves and that is a clear sign to me that you need this dress. THIS ONE! She was a real doll, by the way, the sales associate. When I cried, she cried too. And then we all laughed about how overtly emotional we got.

So what do you think? Any favourites?

Which one do you think is The One?

P.S.- The feature photo (hanging dress I’m not in) is a diversion tactic in case fiancé finds himself scrolling through the blog. He’ll think thats the one and will be so surprised when the big day comes! 😉

Final Wedding Dress Shopping Tomorrow!

I’m late! I’ve been just taking my time with everything, thinking that I could pick out a dress and have it in and ready to wear in 3 months time. How wrong I was! I had no idea how long these dresses take to make, and fit, and alter, and fit…and hope its right on the BIG DAY!

I have gone to several different appointments at several different boutiques, but haven’t had that dress moment. You know the one, it involves tears and ‘Oh my God! I’m getting Married!!’ I spent a ton of time online too, and actually had a great dress in mind. One that my fiancé inadvertently picked out. I actually called about it, but the closest one was several countries away and I just cannot manage that if it doesn’t fit perfectly straight from the box.

Quite honestly, the only place I found a few promising items was at the first dress shop, which I shared a favourite with you here. I saw some others that I would like to try. So, I made an appointment at the original boutique and there a dress will be chosen. It will happen. I’ll let you know how it goes. Tomorrow is the day!

I’m really hoping I can find something will sleeves, or straps. Thats the only thing I’m really stuck on. I don’t want to be walking around all day tugging at the top of my dress. Otherwise, I’m open to everything. Who knows? Might find that moment in something I wouldn’t give a second glance otherwise.

I’ll post about it, but only when I can block my fiancés access to the blog temporarily. Anybody know how to do this?

Wish me luck!

Recycled Book Reading Challenge! Hitman: Enemy Within

I am sooooo late posting this, this month. My apologies! The holidays carried me away and I just could not complete the book in time. My apologies!

My read for the month of December (and part of January) is Hitman: Enemy Within by William Dietz. I am not sure how I found myself with this little treasure to begin with, but I dusted it off from the hidden depths of my bookshelf and decided to give it a read.

Here’s a quick summary:

A competitor in the assassin game decides to take out the ICA (International Contract Agency) and their top assassin, Agent 47. Agent 47 was trained from birth and is not playing around. Agent 47 is a loner (of course) and takes the task to hand to find the persons in charge of sharing information with the ICA’s competitors. He travels far and wide to get what he needs, and an interesting side not of all of this is his glaringly obvious fascination with food & culture. Which is kind of fun, I must admit. I will leave you to figure out the rest.

This is a good, suspenseful, hitman adventure story. Although this is not my typical favourite sit, read & relax type of book…I really liked it! I’m unsure if there is a move based on it. But if there isn’t, there very easily could be.

If you would like to join my Recycled Book Reading Challenge, you can click here for the challenge rules. Love to have you with us and everyone is welcome!

Thanks for reading!

Hi guys! Just checking in. I’m sure that some of you probably think I’ve fallen off the planet, since its been a couple days since my last post. My apologies.

I do have some updates for you.

I am working on my Recycled Book Reading Challenge book (from December! I know…Uuuugh). The book is ‘Hitman: Enemy Within’ by William Dietz. This is supposed to be the official book of the video game (which I have never played). The review will be posted TOMORROW!  The holidays ran away with my time and it took me fooooorrrrrrever to finish the book. My bad! I have been checking out your posts for the recycled book reading challenge and they are great! Thanks for doing this with me! 😀 😀

Also, I have some news. About the whole no-blood situation thats been going on for months now. They have found the problem (I’ll spare you the details) and I’m scheduled for surgery in about a month. So here’s the deal: It seems that I’m going to be in bed for several weeks afterwards. I’m not sure what kind of loopy-stuff I’ll be taking, so no promises that I’ll be drugged and blogging on the reg. I will, of course be checking in – because, well…blogging is my favourite thing to do 😉 But due to my no drinking & blogging policy: If the room is spinning, I won’t be typing. Because it wouldn’t make sense to anyone. Anywho, I will let you know when I go in for surgery and you can know that for a couple weeks blog posts will come when they come. The regularly scheduled posts will be there on the days they should be …I promise! Have calendar, will post.

Thank you guys for being AWESOME and I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

When you just….can’t.

What to do when a bad day gets shitty, and then a shitty day gets even shittier? Stick your head in the sand and hope it goes away, of course! Probably not the best advice, but its what I’m doing this afternoon. I had such high hopes for the day and it just rained…poured…crappy stuff all over my happy plans :/ Dammit.

Where’s the merlot when you need it?

Whine over, thanks for listening

Product Review: Filmora Video Editing Software #Filmora

Hi there 🙂

Today I wanted to talk to you about video editing software. I know that quite a few of you also have video blogs  or vlogs. So I figure this might help navigate the waters a bit.

If you are anything like me, trying to find an easy to use video editing software is….nowhere near easy. So you can imagine that I jumped at the opportunity when presented with the chance to review Filmora’s video editing software!

I must admit, that when I initially downloaded this software, it was a bit challenging for my amateur editing brain to process everything. It is set up quite simply. So it does cater to those who are just starting out. The packages offered, create an entirely different realm of possibilities to the editor. I was gifted the fashion package. Which is really awesome! There are loads of templates for creating videos which can sort through photos as well as regular video – but with a fashion contemporary twist.

On the basic editing software there are tons of background colour options, voice over options, cut/paste options….and lucky for me – fixing the mistake you just made – options. 😉 Seriously, there’s even holiday templates! Which I think are super cool 🙂

There is so much on here…especially with the fashion package included, that I have yet to be able to explore all of it. Yes, THAT MUCH! It is really cool and I must admit that I’m kind of hooked on it! I truly wish I had a longer time on this, as I would love to suddenly be able to crank out awesome vids on a weekly basis. This is one of those reviews where I think I will have to purchase the product for myself.

If you are interesting in learning more about Filmora, or downloading the software – you can find it by clicking here.

What do you think, have you tried this software?

*Disclaimer: I received a complimentary trail download of Filmora video editing software, along with the fashion package, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
