‘For every child born in Wales since April 2014, the Welsh Government have donated a fruit tree to Ugandan families, to celebrate the birth or adoption of every child.’
Does anyone know if this is actually true? What a good idea!

I would love to know if this is actually true! I can’t shed any light on it I am afraid but it was interesting and I’ll be checking back to see if anyone has confirmed it haha 🙂

It’s been confirmed in the comments following yours. (I know this because I am ashamedly slow in replies sometimes…) I cannot believe this is real. A very cool government initiative indeed!

Yes its true, I think it started in 2008 when they would plant a tree just in Wales and then made it larger, as far as I know its still going on

That is such a wonderful initiative! Thank you so much for confirming this. If you look the comments, you will see that I am not the only person hoping this true. I wish all governments would do something like this. Helping each other just as a celebration of life is such a positive thing to do and I think that the world would benefit from such a positive nature.
